Turkey Day!

It wasn't easy getting there but we finally made it up to Sacramento to spend Thanksgiving at my parents new house. What was supposed to take only 3 hours, turned into 6. 5 of those hours we had to listen to the dog/baby whine and pace back and forth in the backseat. The highway we usually take was closed. We heard later is was because of a downed power line. That meant it was back the way we came and on the 101 through the bay area. No surprise there, it was bumper to bumper most of the way. But once we got there it was a great day to see friends and family. It was a great day for the dogs too, they got to run around and in and out of the dog door all day.

Election Hangover

The votes have been cast, the speeches have been made, and the last balloon has fallen. Now what?

I read this interview with former Chief of Staff, Leon Panetta this morning in the SF Chronicle. I've had the privilege of speaking with him personally in the past and feel that he is a "no bull" kind of guy and tells it like it is. Has Obama bitten off more than he can chew?

ANYONE WITH A CREDIT CARD MUST WATCH THIS MOVIE!!!!

I just finished watching this movie and I am stunned, shocked, and saddened.

To watch the trailer, click here.

What I thought was going to be a good reminder of why I am working so hard to be debt free, turned into a "gut check" that will forever change my life and how I spend money.

First Storm of the Fall

As we get ready to turn the clocks back tonight, the clouds are rolling in for what is supposed to be the first storm of the season! Since fall is my favorite time of year, I can't wait. I took these pictures from our balcony overlooking the bay just a few minutes ago.

So far, just a few sprinkles, but the clouds are looking intense and the wind is picking up. The last time we had a big rainstorm, we were without power for two days!!
