It's whale watching season and I had read that pods of whales were spotted off the peninsula. So I ventured out to Point Lobos to see me some whales! What do you know, we saw some! I had told John that I wanted to hike up to the top of Point Lobos and see if we could see anything. We got to my favorite part and sat down. I even had my binoculars but c0uldn't see anything exciting except a couple of pelicans, which don't get me wrong is still pretty cool, but they're not whales. So we headed down the other side of the Point and sure enough we could see spray from their blow holes coming up out of the water! Through the binoculars we could see their backs just barely breaching the surface. It was an amazing thing to see. I couldn't believe that I actually got to see them. I'm trying to get everyone I know to go with me next weekend!
